New Years Resolution: Try some new marketing ideas

new marketing ideas

Something we hear frequently as we meet with prospective clients is how “slow” things are in our local area right now. As we head into the New Year, its time for some new business ideas, whether its a new product, new strategy, new employee, or new marketing ideas, resolve yourself to try something new in 2020. Every client we meet with has opportunities to take advantage of online, whether its email marketing, lead generation tools, a new website that converts, a Google listing, or a new social feed; lets work together to find what your business needs.

As we move closer and closer to the January 1 the team at Persona Digital Marketing has some business New Years Resolutions for you to try! Today we share some social media trends, try some of these for yourself and let us know how it goes!

Social Media Shopping

This marketing trend is already in full effect. With a couple of clicks or presses, you can go from scrolling on your Instagram to completing a purchase. Products integrated directly into social media have shortened the sales funnel by cutting back the amount of effort to get to the point of purchase. Your e-commerce website can now directly plug into social feeds such as twitter, Instagram, and of course Facebook. In the past you would push visitors to your site from social media, now you can bring your products from your site to the social feeds directly. If your business is mostly local this can be a great way to offer your products to a wider audience.

Personalization

Despite the world moving towards a more automated future, people still connect with personalized and authentic content. Whether its local events, photos, raw images of your team at work, or a live video; authentic content will increase the engagement with your social feeds. So skip sharing that industry blog or generic photo from your social software every now and then and just share a picture of you, your team, a client, or a sunrise at the local beach.

YouTube Channel

Did you know that YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world? Every minute, more than 500 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube. YouTube has over 2 billion users, almost one-third of all people on the Internet. Most businesses we meet with do not have a YouTube channel or never post to it, yet these same clients frequently post video on other social media channels. Even if you never post video you can easily create a video slideshow of your products. Try posting every video you put on Instagram or Facebook on YouTube, it costs you nothing and puts your business on a channel that Google will give preference to in search results because they own it.

So there are 3 trends to try with your social media, we’d love to hear how these new marketing ideas worked for you! If you’re already doing these and they’re old news you probably stopped reading already, but if not kudos to you! We wish you luck in the New Year and stay tuned for our next New Year’s resolution post.
